Terms of use.

The plain-English version: be a reasonable adult, do not redistribute our curriculum or designs, and understand that SugarQuit is an educational programme — not a medical device.

1. Who runs SugarQuit

SugarQuit (the "Service") — including the SugarQuit mobile and web application, the curriculum, the illustrations, the website at sugarquit.app, and all related materials — is owned and operated by GoodVibes Labs Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (the "Company", "we", "us", "our").

SugarQuit® is a registered UK trade mark (UK00004318299, Class 9). "SugarQuit", the SugarQuit logo, and the Q-button mark are trade marks of the trade mark proprietor used by GoodVibes Labs Limited.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, downloading the SugarQuit app, or using sugarquit.app, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a binding contract between you and GoodVibes Labs Limited. We may update them from time to time; the effective date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's consent.

You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity on your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, abuse the platform, or compromise other users' experience.

4. What SugarQuit is

SugarQuit is an evidence-based educational programme that teaches the biochemistry of sugar consumption, withdrawal, and recovery. It includes a curriculum of modules, habit-tracking tools (streak counter, sugar log, craving journal), insight summaries, and a resilience library of tactics, quotes, and short exercises.

5. What SugarQuit is NOT

SugarQuit is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, treatment, or therapy. Nothing in the app, the curriculum, or the illustrations diagnoses, treats, cures, or prevents any disease.

The estimated savings, decay-risk reductions, biomarker improvements, and timeline expectations shown are population-level approximations drawn from published research — they are not personalised medical predictions for your body.

Always consult your GP, dentist, or another qualified healthcare professional before making significant dietary changes, especially if you have diabetes (type 1 or type 2), cardiovascular disease, an eating-disorder history, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take prescription medication that interacts with blood-sugar levels.

6. Subscription and billing

The free tier of SugarQuit is permanent and includes the first three curriculum modules, basic tracking, and the resilience library. The Plus tier is £4.99 per month or £34.99 per year, charged via Stripe, and unlocks the remainder of the curriculum, the AI craving coach, weekly insight reports, and other premium features described on the pricing page.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Manage subscription. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.

UK consumer cooling-off period. UK consumers have the right to cancel a digital-content subscription within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, provided they have not yet begun substantive use of the Plus features. After substantive use begins, that right is waived per Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Refunds outside the cooling-off period. We do not pro-rate refunds on partially used billing periods. If you are genuinely unhappy with anything, email billing@sugarquit.app and we will look at the situation in good faith.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create inside SugarQuit — your sugar logs, craving entries, journal notes, quit plan statement, and identity statement (collectively, "Your Content").

You grant GoodVibes Labs Limited a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, copy, transmit, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. We may use aggregated, anonymised patterns drawn from Your Content (e.g. "users on average save X kg of sugar in 90 days") for product analytics and editorial statistics. We do not sell Your Content to advertisers or data brokers, full stop.

8. Intellectual property and copyright

All content in the Service — including without limitation the curriculum body text, module sequencing, scientific illustrations, infographics, photographic flat-lays, glossary, quotes selection, resilience tactics, methodology essays, colour palette, typography choices, button design, the Q-button mark, and the underlying source code (collectively, the "Materials") — is the exclusive property of GoodVibes Labs Limited and is protected by copyright, trade mark, database right, and other intellectual property laws of the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions. All rights are reserved.

You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and use the Materials for your own personal, non-commercial use only. Without our express prior written permission you may NOT:

  • Copy, reproduce, mirror, frame, scrape, or systematically download any part of the Service or Materials;
  • Redistribute, publish, sell, license, sublicense, or commercially exploit any of the Materials;
  • Use any of the Materials to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or otherwise develop machine-learning models;
  • Modify, adapt, translate, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the source code or design system;
  • Use the SugarQuit name, the SugarQuit® trade mark, the Q-button mark, or any confusingly similar mark in your own products, marketing, or business name;
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright notice, trade mark, attribution, or other proprietary notice in the Materials.

Editorial use of third-party brands. Some infographics and articles in the Service depict third-party brand packaging (e.g. Coca-Cola, Cadbury, Hovis, Heinz, Innocent, Pret, Müller Corner, Krispy Kreme, Greggs) for educational and editorial commentary about publicly-disclosed nutritional information. Such depictions are used under fair-dealing principles for criticism, review, and reporting on matters of public interest (UK CDPA 1988, ss. 29-30A). All third-party trade marks and product names belong to their respective owners, who are in no way endorsing or affiliated with SugarQuit.

Reporting infringement. If you believe SugarQuit contains content that infringes your copyright or trade mark, please email legal@sugarquit.app with a description of the work, the allegedly infringing location in the Service, and your contact information.

9. Acceptable use

When using the Service you agree not to: (a) interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers; (b) attempt unauthorised access to any part of the Service or other users' accounts; (c) introduce viruses, malware, or any harmful code; (d) use automated tools to access the Service except via interfaces we explicitly publish; (e) impersonate any person or entity; (f) use the Service to harass, intimidate, or harm other users (when group features launch); or (g) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoodVibes Labs Limited disclaims all warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy of information.

Statistical claims in the Service are sourced to peer-reviewed research wherever possible (citations in the glossary and module sources). Individual outcomes vary; nothing in the Service guarantees a specific health, weight, biomarker, or mood outcome.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoodVibes Labs Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

Our aggregate liability to you for any direct losses arising from the Service is capped at the greater of (a) the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GoodVibes Labs Limited, its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time via Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service immediately, without notice, if you materially breach these Terms or if continued provision of the Service to you would expose us to legal or regulatory risk. On termination, Sections 7 (Your Content), 8 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (Indemnification), and 15 (Governing Law) survive.

14. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may modify or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time. We may amend these Terms by posting an updated version at sugarquit.app/terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or by an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of an amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and GoodVibes Labs Limited agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for any dispute, except that consumer users resident elsewhere in the UK may bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction where applicable consumer law so provides.
